Luminex products are built from an ever-increasing array of Luminex-developed and industry-developed modular components. We do not subscribe to monolithic approaches, rather we design open frameworks and architectures. At the core of our technology is/are Luminex designed and developed Storage Networking software, Channel Protocol Gateway drivers, Mainframe Device Control Units, and FICON/ESCON channel connectivity products. Our open architecture enables us to quickly integrate with industry-leading technologies and to deliver a continuous stream of product advancements to the mainframe community.
Our FICON products are built on the industry-leading EMULEX Fibre Channel product family. Luminex is the only independent provider of FICON connectivity products. Our Universal Channel Driver and Universal Channel Interface software developer kits are the industry’s only FICON developer kits available to 3rd party developers.
We have an active license to the IBM ESCON patents and we are unique in that we have fully developed and certified ESCON technology based on our own FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) intellectual property. Our ESCON board-level products are OEMed by major mainframe providers to deliver ESCON connectivity to their customers.
