Luminex Software Named to Software Magazine's 21st Annual Software 500
Riverside, CA, December 30, 2003 - Luminex Software, Inc., a leading developer of data distribution, archiving and storage products, today announced that it ranked Number 461 on the Software 500, Software Magazine's list of the world's foremost software and services providers, published as an online catalog on www.Softwaremag.com.
"Luminex's storage management expertise and strong customer base, which have generated a proven revenue stream , have gained extensive industry recognition in 2003," stated Arthur Tolsma, CEO of Luminex. "Software Magazine joins the Inc. 500, Deloitte Technology Fast 500, and the Los Angeles Technology Fast 50 in acknowledging Luminex's continued leadership in technology innovation."
"IT spending continued to be slow through the period measured by the 2003 Software 500. While the list has changed substantially with additions and deletions, certain niches paid off," says John Desmond, Softwaremag.com's editorial director and publisher.
The Software 500 is a comprehensive look at the software industry targeting enterprise IT organizations with software and services. The list includes both private and public companies. The Software 500 is a worldwide list in that it is open to any company to submit financial and product information via the annual Software 500 survey, conducted 100% on the Web with help from The Standish Group, a research and analyst firm based in Yarmouthport, Mass.
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and service revenue for 2002. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training, and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at www.softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents.
