Luminex 6964 PCI to ESCON Mainframe Connectivity Gateway is one of a family of Luminex products enabling the convergence of open systems and mainframes.

Luminex 6964 is a 64-Bit ESCON protocol processor that provides data transfer directly between mainframe and open system servers at I/O speed. By emulating standard IBM control units, Luminex 6964 allows mainframe applications and utilities to run without modification. With an onboard RISC processor and memory to handle the ESCON protocol, Luminex 6964 can transfer data bi-directionally using the full bandwidth of the ESCON fiber-based protocol.

Luminex 6964 easily handles the most intensive user demands for access to mainframe data - increasing the speed of data consolidation programs and improving the performance of high volume web to host operations.

Luminex also provides its Mainframe Connectivity Gateway to Unisys to provide high performance connectivity from its ClearPath Plus Dorado mainframes to its SBCON legacy disk and tape libraries to protect its customers' IT investment.
