Channel Gateway

  • Luminex’s Channel Gateway enables FC or SCSI tape drives to be deployed as native mainframe 3490 or 3590 tape drives.
  • The Channel Gateway maps the ESCON or FICON protocol to the FC or SCSI protocol.
  • The Channel Gateway enables industry-leading encryption appliances to securely encrypt mainframe tape data transparently to the mainframe with no impact to MIPS cycles. 
  • The Channel Gateway is composed of Luminex software, ESCON or FICON host bus adaptors, Fibre Channel Switches, industry leading encryption appliances and a Sun Solaris server.
