Luminex Software Expands in the City of Riverside

Riverside, CA. July 19, 2004 — Luminex Software, Inc., a leading developer of data storage products that tackle the complex challenges of storing, archiving, distributing and protecting data, announced today that it has moved into its new worldwide headquarters at 871 Marlborough Avenue in the Hunter Business Park, Riverside, CA. Established in 1994 in Riverside by its founders and current owners, Brian Hawley of Riverside, Michael Saunders of Riverside and Arthur Tolsma of Redlands, Luminex has grown its business dramatically in the past several years and has outgrown its former 6,000 square foot headquarters facility located on Indiana Ave. in the City of Riverside. The new headquarters facility, developed by the Magnon Companies, is a two story building in which Luminex will be occupying 15,000 square feet, including a large research and development lab and production and assembly space.

In October 2003, Luminex was named one of the fastest-growing technology companies in North America by both Deloitte and Touche’s 2003 Fast 500 and INC. Magazine’s INC. 500. “Luminex Software is a leading technology firm in Riverside,” stated Cheryl Dye, Economic Development Manager for the City of Riverside. “Their 496% revenue growth over the last five years has been exceptional. Luminex is active within the City’s new hi-tech CEO group and we think they are a terrific example of Riverside’s future in terms of our growing technology base.”

The 7- year lease of the building from the Magnon Companies will more than double the size of Luminex’s Riverside facility, according to Brian Hawley, Luminex Chairman of the Board. “Luminex elected to expand within Riverside for a number of reasons, including the proximity to the rapidly expanding technology resources of the University of California, Riverside (UCR),” stated Hawley. “As a high- tech company that emphasizes research and development, it is important to our company that we are near an accessible, highly-trained labor force and UCR has provided Luminex with quality interns and employees. Additionally, Riverside continues to grow and prosper and offers a great quality of life for our employees. It is a wonderful place to raise a family.”

The new headquarters will allow Luminex to further expand their employee base and add critical resources as required to continue their commitment to innovation and customer service, thus ensuring a continuation of their award-winning successful growth.

Janet Valentine and David Consani with CBRE in Ontario represented Luminex in this transaction.
